Heart sugar cubes? The best way to serve sugar for your tea parties! :) You only need sugar, water, and coloring of your choice. I loved taking this opportunity to use natural food coloring powders but food gel coloring will work too. They take time to dry for the shape to hold but for the cutest heart sugar cubes, they’re totally worth the wait. :) 💙
Suggestions to Think About Before You Make This
You can order cute bags to pack the extras to use as little gifts.
Blend freeze dried fruits and mix into the sugar mixture for flavored sugar cubes
Storage
Store in an air tight container (so the humidity doesn’t make it fall apart) and away from sunlight.
Recipe
Ingredients:
¼ teaspoon natural food color powder or 1-2 drops food gel coloring of your choice
2 teaspoons hot water
200 grams white granulated sugar
Directions:
Skip this step if using food gel
Bloom 1/4 teaspoon natural food coloring powder with 2 teaspoons hot water.
Add the colored water mixture into 200 grams white granulated sugar. Mix until the sugar is evenly colored and the mixture resembles wet sand.
Spoon the colored sugar mixture into the heart silicone mold. Gently pat down to avoid air pockets in the mold to have uniform sugar hearts.
To air dry: leave out overnight to dry and it should be ready to remove from the mold in 24 - 48 hours.
You can try this with any coloring you’d like…make it all one color or make a rainbow of sugar hearts :)
Enjoy! :) Please tag @SparkleCakerie if you make this! I’d love to see and share your creations <3
